Marlboro, Mass.—February 28, 2005—Egenera Inc, a global leader in utility computing, today announced that Ron Frankenfield has joined the Company as vice president and general manager, Americas. In this role, he is responsible for sales and support operations for the U.S., Canada and Latin America, including recruitment of high-quality resellers throughout the region.
"We are very pleased to have retained an executive of Ron's caliber to support our rapid growth," said Mike Thompson, Egenera's chief operating officer. "His background in the hardware, software and systems-integration sectors combine to create an ideal perspective for conveying the Egenera value proposition. Likewise, Ron's experience running very large organizations will help us continue to quickly scale the business. His proven ability to build successful sales and service organizations, coupled with his hands-on approach to field management, will also further our exemplary record for customer satisfaction. I am pleased to welcome Ron to Egenera's management team."
"I'm very excited about joining the Egenera team," said Frankenfield. "To achieve a leading position in the utility computing marketplace in just a few short years is truly a stunning accomplishment for the Company. I look forward to working with our employees, customers and partners to maintain this leadership and help take Egenera to the next level of success."
Frankenfield has a proven track record and solid accomplishments in the computer industry, with nearly 30 years' experience.
