MARLBORO, Mass. — September 13, 2006 — Egenera, Inc., a global leader in datacenter virtualization architecture, today announced changes to its executive leadership team effective October 1. Robert Dutkowsky will step down as president and chief executive officer, but will continue to serve as Egenera's Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Dutkowsky has been named CEO of Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD), a global leader in the distribution of IT products, with sales of over $20 billion in fiscal 2006. Michael Thompson, Egenera's chief operating officer, will succeed Mr. Dutkowsky in the role of Egenera president and CEO.

Michael Thompson joined Egenera in early 2002. Prior to Egenera, Mr. Thompson was senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Stratus Technologies, where he also served on the Board of Directors. Prior to Stratus, he served in executive positions at Tandem Computers. Mr. Thompson serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Revivio, Inc., the leader in the time staged Continuous Data Protection market based in Lexington, Mass.
