Summary:
Manage software products throughout their life cycle including identification of business opportunities, product requirements planning and prioritization, business case development, roadmap planning, product packaging and pricing, development of technical marketing collateral and managing customer specific product issues.
Skills Required:
- Management of software products targeted at Fortune 1000 companies for their enterprise servers and data centers
- Technical expertise or product marketing specialization in server software products including :

Operating system products ( Unix, Linux, Microsoft Server, Solaris )

- Developing the business case and financial analysis for software products – revenue, market dynamics,
- Manage a software product line and measure success of the products
- Influence product directions based on market and customer requirements and analysis
- Analyze and summarize competitive software products and offerings
- Creative use of PowerPoint, Excel and Word for product presentations and product documentation
- Develop and deliver effective product presentations to customers, sales organizations and industry forums
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the product roadmap for specific product lines
- Drive consensus for prioritizing new features and negotiating new release schedules and contents with the Engineering team
- Develop, Define and Manage the product launch activities for new product introductions
- Write product announcements for new releases
- Develop technical marketing collateral
- Work with Finance to develop product P&L/business plans and participate in the forecasting process by developing and submitting marketing forecasts as input
- Develop new pricing/customer programs as needed
- Manage beta process for new product releases
- Work with customers and field to define and understand new requirements
- Provide technical product support for the field sales and SE teams
- Maintain competitive analysis database and knowledge
- Develop responses / programs in response to customer requests for enhancements
Education:
Minimum of Bachelors Degree. MBA Preferred
